Started eating it recently, and not only has it greatly improved my health, I don't notice any effect on other processes. Here's the reality of it. The sulfur compounds in garlic either get turned into metallothioneines, glutathine, or they remove garbage from the body. Penetrating the BBB is a good thing, it gets built up garbage out of your brain hence the use of DMSO and EDTAs as chelating agents. I haven't seen any data to indicate it's all that toxic, and I eat a whole large onion and at least half a mid size bulb of garlic per day.
Here's the other thing. If they did have a cognition diminishing effect, they would try to sneak them into all of the food. Like they do with s oy, canola, and numerous other things.
