Suppose you play a game without full information, say something like poker. You observe your opponent's actions and want to deduce information about your opponent's strength that are not otherwise disclosed, like whether they hold a high pair or small suited connectors, etc. Assume you have a reasonable expectation of what actions they would make based on their holdings. Then you can use Bayes to reverse-engineer useful information that helps you decide optimally your next move.
