>>11592477it's not about reading books, but about understanding the concepts. Like, really understanding, and for that you can't just read the book. You have to solve problems, sometimes "rediscover" things, to get the full grasp of it. Getting mathematics passively is impossible, you have to do it actively, to actually internalize all this knowledge and to be able to operate on it. It's like the difference between knowing that addition exists, and being able to actually add things together.
So, you need really strong internalized intuitions for mathematics objects. And for that, just reading books is, unfortunately, insufficent.
