For all my geography-challenged American friends, Manaus is the largest Brazilian city in the Amazon. Now it has the highest outbreak in Northern Brazil, and the most deaths in South America per capita of any city.

It's only a matter of time till COVID-19 jumps to bat populations in the Amazon and mutates.

And if it mutates to a deadlier form, wouldn't it kill the host too quickly to spread? Even with the 2 week period, the more die from it the less likely it is to spread to another host.

You're forgetting the asymptomatic spreading of the virus, and then the symptoms appear and you either recover without the hospital or go to the hospital and need intensive care. What if it jumps to the bat population, mutates into something more deadlier but still retains the 2 week asymptomatic spreading trait, and only, but surely, killing you after you start showing symptoms?

Chillax, my guy. I was just asking for confirmation. It's easy to just say something outrageous like that the virus will jump to bats and wipe out humanity, but you forget that bats are different species and contagion can be different with them. Besides, the original reservoir in China is still unknown last I checked.
