You'll notice that Southern India, Northern Europe, and Asia (except maybe China but it started there) have all basically been unaffected. Asians in particular have thymal persistence which basically means they have extremely smart immune systems. Indians and Europeans don't have this, but I'm guessing they're just less inflammatory than the Arabs (South Europeans and Pakis)
You'll notice that most of the Indians who died are of Pakistani descent, or sometimes North Indian descent (AKA more ME ancestry)
With Blacks it's some of the same, but also poverty, and prevalence of obesity/diabetes/asthma etc.
The virus targets Middle Eastern and African people because they have a more intense/energetic immunological response. Asians are the most protected because they're on the other end of this scale.
