>>11594458Don't want to get into that discussion right now but I disagree. Starting with the point that I do not consider IQ an accurate measurement of intelligence and that it has been largely disproved, not today, but in the 90s by the names of Bernie Devlin, Stephen E. Fienberg or Stephen Jay Gould. Not to mention the fact that a lot of those who push this idea of differences in IQ are just hacks, like Richard Lynn, who falsely made up numbers when trying to prove that different countries had largely different IQs.
>>11594464>pic relatedI'd like to point out that, apparently, you are not familiar with the way college applications work and how this kind of systems work way better. If you are a smart black student, you are more likely to find that: the public schools in your community are underfunded and thus you are not well prepared; your community is generally poor and your parents are not well educated, which will influence your learning environment; your schools, due to being underfunded, offer less opportunities than your typical school, etc. All of that builds up to you, the smart black student, being in disadvantage.
That is why, if you go to a top STEM school it is likely that you will find that your typical black student has great SAT and great GPA but very rarely went to USAMO or Intel ISEF. I have experienced it too, you can only do so much when your hands are full with other problems.
And that is the reason why, generally URM have a greater advantage when it comes to applications. Do you think it's fair that your white student who went to a magnet school and had parents that paid thousands on tutoring has to be held to the same standards than the black student described earlier?
>There is nothing systematic about some groups being more impoverished than others, that is a product of chance events. Wealth is lost within 2 generations, slavery and Jim Crow were ended many more generations ago.You are so, so close to understanding, yet so far.
