i am old school. I just write on paper. havent used latex in my life, if they ask me for shit ill just write it in pen

I'm sure zoomers will shit on me but writing on a tablet has never felt right. It's not a Luddite thing, I use a tablet for all kinda of things but not writing. Shit to take take notes I just open a notepad file and start typing.

i used to write notes in the corner of whatever piece of paper was lying around and ended up with piles of wrinkled paper with torn corners and coffe stains containing "important" pieces of information, todo lists and whathot
Then i started scribbling that shit with a bamboo tablet in windows journal and that pile of paper turned into a folder of organized notes

Any recommendations for a replacement of windows journal for writing? Its best feature was that you could select and move around lines like objects and not like individual pixels

I'm incredibly disorganized and only really learn from practice so i barely take notes and after i learn something i'll just go back to the source and skim it if i need to remember.
I'm not saying this is a good system, i'm saying i'm borderline retarded.

I got an iPad recently for taking notes and in my opinion it's worth it. I can have my exercises separated from my lecture notes, and easily send the answer to a problem to a friend digitally. It makes it also easy to give my friends all my notes for a course.

It's been great to use, so for me it's been worth it.
I'm studying physics if people wonder what I'm using it for.

Type on the tablet because writing on a tablet is slower and doesnt help with memory retention. Only time I doodle on a screen is if it involves shit I can't type and want to send it via screenshot.

I haven't tried other tablets, but the reason I got an iPad was that I had recently switched to iPhone and wanted a new tablet for watching movies on airplanes but could not justify the cost of something like the iPad pro. Then I started watching reviews of the iPad and how the good the apple pencil is convinced me to buy the iPad for school.
I haven't tried any other tablets for notetaking, but the app support is very good for the iPad, and being able to check my notes on my phone at any time is also a bonus.
