GR was easier for me to learn. I was dumb as shit when I had to learn SR. 3 years later, I made that GR math my bitch. Tensor gymnastics like an Olympian.
Now, obviously SR has easier problems. But actually, you rarely solve problems in GR. Its just too hard. Maybe your professor would have you derive the TOV equation as a homework problem, but its not like your solving the field equations as a test problem. Quite a bit of the course is just learning the, 'standard tricks', like a calculus course where you learn derivatives but never encounter a hard derivative.
Now, numerical GR, I imagine that shit is a nightmare.
