hey /sci/, so im a zoomer and got a 23 on the ACT, I have really high reading skills but lower STEM skills, what tips would you anons provide for improving myself? and is my score good?

Your score is quite low.
Depends on where you live. I honestly wouldn't worry too much about grinding for the ACT. If you live in the south or midwest there are a number of state universities that are practically open admissions. The university of Kentucky, U of Kansas, and Kansas state all have acceptance rates above 90%.

You may consider going to a community college as well. In the mean time I think that broadening your math knowledge would be good. Go on khan academy to review math. AoPS has several good texts you may find on libgen. Mathematics of Choice by Ivan Niven is a nice text on combinatorics. kiselev's geometry is also good.

I got a 34 on my ACT and proceeded to fail out of Engineering because I couldn't pass differential equations.
The fact of the matter is that technical courses are taught by the professor rambling on and on about random unrelated parts of a subject. If you have a high IQ it does not matter because your brain hears these factoids and automatically sorts them into a structure of function, importance, relevance, etcetera. Then it fills in the gaps and creates an intuitive model. Average IQ people never learn this model and thus can't pass the course.
If you insist on majoring in something that it technical though I can give you some advise about what I would have done differently.
1. Don't show up to class unless you have to take a test. Instead stay home and just read the book during your class time.
2. Sign up for Chegg and cheat on every homework.
