It's my favorite, and one of the definitive, American novels. I could read it a thousand times. No one has better captured the genuine evil of fascism while also explain why/how it's extremely relevant to modern life, especially American life.

On the /sci/ side, I love the polymer engineering part where he describes the use of dead organic matter in plastics as a cruel bastardization of rebirth. "Death to death-transfigured" are his words, I believe.
