does the upper echelon of the job market for business degrees (the better ones like MIS, finance, accounting) really fit the "cog in the machine" stigma? are the so-called "good" jobs that these degrees help you obtain soul sucking and miserable?

what about upper-echelon STEM jobs? (particularly biology, chemistry, geology) do these jobs have high satisfaction rates? are the high paying jobs in these fields ones that will nourish workers who truly have a passion for their studies?
