Gravity is the curvature and stretching of space.

Everything in the black hole (the black part) has been stretched to be so far away that it has been moved outside the observable universe.

It’s not that light doesn’t exit the back hole. It’s just that anything in the black hole for light to reflect off of is just to far away to have reached it yet.

Things from our perspective (outside a black hole) don’t enter the back hole.

My theory is that from their perspective they don’t either. Because the black part of the black hole is just an illusion caused by a very long distance of stretched space.

Actually gravity is extremely strong compared to the other forces. It's just that electrons are orders of magnitude more charged than they are massive.

Can someone help me understand this?

Every illustration I've seen of a black hole shows it as two dimensional surface.

But space is obviously three dimensional. So wouldn't a black hole really just be a black point? How can there be a hole in three dimensions? And if a black hole is in fact a two dimensional surface, what happens "beneath" or "around" the surface of the black hole?

Again, I've seen drawings of stuff like an einstein-rosen bridge but, once again, how does that make sense in three dimensions?

Thank you for posting the visualization. Very fun to watch.

Still it is unclear to me how this resolves the idea of a two dimensional surface in three dimensional space.

Unless these illustrations are false and like I say before that a black hole as a surface is really a misnomer and they are actually just "black points" i.e. just a more extreme form of a neutron star.

It is a more "extreme form of a neutron star" in the sense that it is an extremely heavy object with an extremely heavy gravity that would dwarf a neutron star. It's just that it's so heavy that things get weird around it, much weirder than a neutron star.

The great issue to understand all this is that gravity affects space, while EM affects particles. So isnt that gravity is stronger, but is more like space is a more influential field.

This guy is absolutely fascinating, and yet I've never heard about him.

Whenever you hear about black holes whose names do you hear? Einstein, Einstein, Einstein. Apparently this John Mitchel guy was the first to consider that a mass could be so great that it could attract light! He thought of this in the fucking 1780s!
