>>11581967This. Learning on your own is even better than ivy league. At the ivy league tournament get pompous professors who will fuck you over and give you any grade they see fit as long as its within your score range. If enough people get As they can choose who to not give As to. They might even go as far as to not count certain assignments for your grade. My professors harassed me and belittled me, and time and time again I proved that I could solve harder problems in the subject matter that they taught, but they would house their knowledge of their domain to justify them being right. I'd have to go to great lengths to prove that I was right and they just gave me a hard time and accused me of cheating. On the other extreme you have pompous jackasses that waste your time, thinking that even hearing them talk is a privilege when in reality they are rambling and not teaching you anything but instead waste the 100$ per hour that the course costs. Tenure is a joke and even people who made amazing discoveries in the 80s but have since done jack shit dont deserve their tenure if all they are is a money sink that wastes people's time
FYI for anyone who's interested, being a PhD in physics doesnt mean you can solve vector calculus problems better than someone who is learned in it but knows less than you overall.
I would much rather self learn than to have some degree where I'm taught
