The main problem with this is that horizontal air resistance doesn't contribute to resisting the force of gravity, so you'd basically be making a really over-designed centrifuge. Also, the centrifugal forces would cancel out and keep you still.

To make your idea work you could take this design (pic related) and mount a strong magnet at the top, and have a solid metal ceiling for your vehicle. Just make sure the magnetic power is stronger than the gravitational force on your vehicle and you're good to go.

You can't just keep rotating something forever, it eventually has to turn the other way the same number of times. For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. So even if you were able to keep turning the blades, when you turn off the flying machine it will essentially explode like a nuclear bomb.

Except helicopters are actual flying machines. OP's post illustrates a machine designed to spin a blade and waste gas. Might he useful for separating plasma in blue whale blood samples, but not much besides that.

this would literally work, you just need such a large force in the arm to keep pulling the magnet forward that it's cheaper to just move the wheels

i dont think it would work because the arm is attached to the truck rather than being it's own separate structure. it's the same object so theres nothing to pull to. it's just pulling itself into itself.

actually, the push might actually generate an equal amount of push in the opposite direction in this case, and make it not work, idk

but replace the truck with a giant wheel and a hydraulic arm with a magnet at the end, and also a magnet at the front of the wheel.
