>>11578561idk why I'm taking this bait but:
>all these PhDsthere are probably a (relatively) fair number of PhDs here, but they are defo the minority in number, and especially in posts. Most are either brainlets who want to feel smart, or undergrads, or people not in academia. a PhD has way less time to be posting than the nolifes who post here.
>there are a large number of unironically sexist, homophobic and racist commentsalmost all of them by brainlets or salty undergrads/grads who blame their shortcomings on quotas and shit.
>Which means that you do exist in the current IRL intellectual community. Which means that the leftist and feminists are actually right, they do see a lot of hate in their daily lives.even supposing the PhDs who lurk here are sexist/racist/bigotted, them showing hate toward minorities/oppressed people would easily spell the end of their careers, even if they have tenure. Universities are at the end of the day businesses and very concerned with their public image. if a staff visibly shows their biggotry, they are either immediately fired or seriously warned where they know repeating that behavior means game over.
if they really hate a certain group of people, the most they can do is not hire them as their assistants. they can't manipulate grades and they defo can't show hate in public.
Hyperlefties are just super biased and look at everything through their lens, when often times the observation has nothing to do with discrimination.
eg: worked with an sjw who thought our supervisor was sexist toward her, but the guy was just strict with everyone. he got angry at her because she fucked up and was super behind on her writeup, but literally a few weeks prior to that he had the same problem with another male student.
