>>11578791>jumping through hoopsThese are pretty simple, direct observations. Not sure where the hoop jumping is. If you actually pay attention to the way he speaks you'll realize it's not as simple as "like a five year old," it's much more peculiar than that. You'll notice he'll catch himself using a polysyllabic word, or about to use one, and then try to rephrase the sentence so he can use a simpler word while still speaking coherently. Obviously, this doesn't always work out for him, which is where you get the common criticism of him sounding "incoherent," but what I'm saying isn't just my observation. Other people have noticed this too. Speech analyses have been done that are consistent with these observations, and if you cheat and do a little digging you'll learn that he actually has been using a speech coach for years that employs the method of poly-> mono, positive/affirming, heavy repetition that myself and others have observed.
>>11578805>functionally illiterateLmao that's so absurd to even suggest that. You can see him reading fine from his notes on and off at almost every single press conference, not to mention any of his campaign rallies where he's reading from a teleprompter. Not to mention that when he doesn't use a teleprompter he can still answer questions quickly.
I mean, Obama allegedly had a very high IQ, but have you ever seen montages of him trying to read from a teleprompter or answer questions off the top of his head? He's painfully slow, lots of "ums," lots of meandering, often stuttering, long pauses where he has to remember what he's saying- he couldn't think on his feet. He was an introvert, a writer.
People forgot how bad obama was at public speaking. Not to mention, if people were not incentivized to show they weren't racist by electing a black president, no one would think obama was exceptionally articulate or a "great" public speaker. They would say he was average.
