Its commonly said that entanglement can't be used for ftl communication, but I don't get why not.

Say that we have entangled pair of electrons, seperated by 10 light seconds. We both agree on binary message system based on the one spin component of the electron. You will send messages to me by encoding them in the spin of the electron you have, and every second I will check the spin of my particle to receive a bit of your message.

You can select the spin on your side by just repeatedly cycling through noncommuting measurements until you get the correct spin. Once a second has elapsed, I measure the agreed upon spin component, and see the spin you selected.

How is this not ftl communication?
