I'm a writer trying to keep realistic portrayal of stuff, but I have a problem. I've never tried drugs but I need to know how fast will laudanum take effect.
I did research on the topic and realised that laudanum contains both morphine and hydromorphone, which have a vastly different half life. I need to know whether orally administered laudanum would kick in immediately due to morphine, or would take around half an hour to activate in case hydromorphone was the dominant piece.
Google doesn't want to give me a definitive answer and keeps directing me to some medical sites with morphine tablets. I know I can read a book about it but my clock is ticking and theres gotta be a quick answer somewhere.
