>>11563822Because the cost of making more humans is too high. Even insects have sexual reproduction and their offspring is cheap. The only reason to reproduce asexually is if offspring is dirt cheap and doesn't cost a lot of energy to do. Also, the longer the gestation period, the more dangerous it could be to commit to a pregnancy. So sex has become a highly curated, highly competitive process, where females are instinctually driven to have children, but highly sensitive to the quality of the mate. This competitiveness drives an efficient process of breeding where higher tier males are selected, and offspring with higher survival chance is made. If humans reproduced asexually, there would not be enough genetic variation to produce fit and diverse humans, and diverse survival strategies would form slower. Also, the chances of pregnant humans dieing would be higher, as humans would all be competition with one another to protect their own offspring, rather than vie for the best mates, they will vie only for the best resources for their own offspring, and since humans have no natural weaponry, the lack of tribalism would increase deaths to predators and environmental hazards. Also, having one human morphology that must carry the burden of birth, and secure food for itself while I'm it's vulnerable state would drastically reduce survival. It's why a strong, short lived male is ideal for securing resources and building the tribe. While females are protected and secure the next generation.
