Hey /sci/
I'm making a post apocalyptic wiki from when people have to start society from scratch.
I thought about using cassette players to store the data, but I'm stuck on how to display said data.
What do you think would be the easiest way to make a screen from scratch?
This is very important as finding a way to store large amounts of data would be the most important thing in a post apocalyptic society.

It's all been done before you dumb zoomer.
Check out some prepper forums, plenty of guides and hundreds of approaches to this, along with some autists that have gone all the way.
Downloading all of wikipedia is surprisingly not that large either.

Can you imagine if you archived the entire internet, all books, movies, video games, and every possible digital media on those disks. And then in 10,000 years archeologists are excavating old for Earth history and discover this vault, and somehow THIS is all they have to know about us?

I think CRT's would be the quickest way to get a "screen". Or maybe make a really big flip board. I think there were some quick-dirty/clever techniques to get data to "display" without using a vacuum tube.

You don’t build a screen from scratch you use screens that are already all around us retard. Every single home in america has atleast one screen you can use. You are carrying one on you. What is even your guide for people in 1000 years won’t have your guide. Cassettes are slow as balls and are prone to getting fucked up (the only reason it was used because they were very cheap) plus probably not that easy to make the microcontroller that will process the info from the cassette then output it to communicate to the screen. I personally don’t have a chip fabricator in my basement. Plus why would you even use a fancy screen back in the day a really simple way to have output would be punched holes in a long piece of paper and you can read each byte that way. Or have lights that signify every byte or whatever. The easiest way to store information in 1000 years would be have a large mainframe like an IBM mainframe. With those huge tape reels that can actually store a lot of information. Not cassettes or anything like that.
