Epidemiologists are the bottom feeders of the health sciences.
They're a mix of people who don't know statistics with people who don't know data science with people who don't know biology.
Literally the most complex thing you'll see them do is fit some shit linear model to some data and be surprised when real life is not linear. That's it. There has never been a single great contribution to science done by an epidemiologist.
Vaccine experts, immunologists, molecular biologists, all of those do useful things.
Epidemiologists are absolute clowns.
