The "dinosaurs" died, by the way, because the electric field field changed and gravity dramatically increased, after the breakup of the Polar Configuration. Regarding the electric field by the way, not all of them died, many just changed in appearance due to the new electric field and after a few generations devolved into basically new creatures. Look into the Ebner Effect.

Regarding the dinos though, a lot of them undoubtably did go extinct, certainly the bigger ones due to suddenly being too heavy. Also some (regardless of size) probably couldn't adapt to the light from a main sequence star like The Sun and went blind or just couldn't feed themselves properly anymore.
