2nd, that subjective experience isn't all that consciousness is, there's also an experience of experience. Lots of things compute and register without having consciousness.
It's true that we can't prove consciousness, but that in part refers to my first point about qualia. You can't prove qualia. Also we are theoretically deficient and there's no reason to assume we won't make headway in this matter just because we don't know now.
Just biology in itself is extremely complicated. We have no reason to believe that consciousness is extraphysical. The behaviours and reports that we associate with consciousness are highly affected by physical states and damage. There's no basis for assuming there's a platonic consciousness that exists separate from its associated brain.
Lastly, that "line of reasoning" is a strawman, and also not a line of reasoning at all.
