As for the lengths.. just a hunch, but that part is easy to test with trial and error. We know that a rectangle of a given perimeter is a maximum area when it's a square, so since this one needs no top side, just gonna guess that 50% of the length goes to the base. But.. I may be wrong there. Go ahead and plug in some numbers.
Actually I'm gonna plug in some numbers now but I'm gonna pretend we have 60 instead of 9 cause that's gonna be easier to do in my head.
So let's say it's 15, 30, 15. Then we have an area of 450.
Let's say it's 20, 20, 20. Then it's area 400.
What if it's 14, 32, 14? Then it's 448.
Let's say it's 16, 28, 16. Then it's... 320+128 which is 448.
So yea I think my hunch was right! Neato~
