We should reinstate the Trivium and Quadrivium system of higher education from classical and medieval times. The Trivium is centered around the liberal arts, comprised of logic, grammar, and rhetoric. The Quadrivium is higher science and math, comprised of arithmetic, geometry, physics/astronomy, and music. Now clearly the subject matter of each should be changed to better reflect our current time, but generally I think it’s a good idea to have the Trivium be a freely accessible component to higher learning wherein people learn not to be retarded and how to elevate themselves and society whereas the Quadrivium is more exclusive and selective where only those with higher educational aspirations and talents may partake.
