anyway, before I had shortness of breath the last time, I had a very high heartrate. This further suggests to me that the hemoglobin avenue is real.

lack of red blood cells + NO shortness of breath would result in a high heartrate, right? As the RBCs rush around faster to exchange O2 quicker to make up for the dead hemo-less rbcs killed by the virus.

Supposedly the "ground glass" in the lung, and what causes the chest pain and possibly the shortness of breath, is the oxidized iron from the heme.

it probably is both but everyone is focusing on this as some sort of "pneumonia" when it's extremely different from any normal type of pneumonia.

For instance, the ground-glass images are always in both lungs, NEVER in just one lung.

The NYC doctor talked about how patients with low O2 saturation are still able to stand up and speak, meaning that they've acclimated to the low O2.

Basically, this virus attacks your RBCs, spills out the hemoglobin. Your body progressively acclimates to the lower amount of RBCs/O2. The free hemoglobin causes some problems in the lungs, probly responsible for the "ground glass" images. Your body just adapts further and further to progressively decreasing amounts of oxygen until you fight off the virus or die.
