Consider peaticides, most cropse became so dependent on them they cannot be really grown without pesticides any more. Bananas are famous for being barely growable even with pesticides. Peaches, once a symbol of longevity, had their lifespans reduced to some 15 years.
You could argue that's plants, and we are different.
But it isn't just plants anymore. There are massive losses of poultry every year. Pigs are virtually impossible to keep alive anymore, so that the prices of pork are rising as the pigs keep dying.
