Not really. Most people who will get it will have mild to no symptoms and wont go out of their way to get tested and so the numbers are going to be weighted by the severe and chronic cases that are showing up the doctors office and the hospitals.

Recoveries are vastly under-reported. They're not bothering to chase up every single person who tested positive to see if they've recovered or not. Whereas the state is 99% likely to know if you died of covid, because you either died in the hospital, or your body is found at home.
