I've been reading that as we age the issue with learning new skills is interference from old memories/skills. I've also been told here that to think better about problems you should relate them to other things like music, shapes, colors, etc.

So, is it to solve new problems you should be thinking of them from multiple different angles but to learn new things you want to make the least amount of connections to old things as possible?
I'm a brainlet just making the best with what I got. When I get older I want my brain to be as healthy as can be and be able to solve new problems too.
