Facebook was awful and it's sure it's an evil influence on the world but if you use it right it can be a highly useful and comfy resource you just have to use it like a safe space. Anything you don't like delete it. Unfollow all the brainlets and roasties from high school and college. No one has posted any status' since their grannies got Facebook in 2013 anyway.
Facebook now is all about Groups and Marketplace. I get more useful up to the minute Science and Tech news through Facebook groups than I get anywhere else and there are some OBSCURE groups out there. Since your posts aren't public to your everyone you've ever met in these groups people post more freely as well.
Marketplace is the only place online i've got bargains since Ebay went to shit in the early 2000s.
I hated Facebook and largely i still do I wish I could browse it anonymously but I've really made it work for me in the last year and in many ways it's a better information source than 4chan is. Laugh all you want but 4chan was the best for fast up to the minute discussion for a decade there.
