The right has currently adopted an almost blind faith mindset: No amount of facts or events will change their unshakable beliefs in everything being the left's fault and all bad events being their fault or some insane conspiracy theory's fault.
Even if millions die, the non-educated whites that make up the lion's share of the conservative voter base will refuse to accept reality and will instead cling to insane theories spun by Trump and the republicans to throw blame for it on others.
And this means that the left won't have sufficient numbers to overthrow them and make changes to the medical system, as the swing voters are by and large still in the "But that's communism!" mindset for basically anything progressive, meaning the left is generally just enforcing the status quo, not changing things.
