I'm a poorfag neet who's trying to learn the basics before attending university
I've already downloaded the book, but i don't want to turn on the computer and stare into the monitor every time i want to read the book; I want it to be physical

If you want a physical book just get a more specialized book in each subject matter, like taylor or goldstein classical mechanics (I cant remember which one was the easier one)

I did learn basic undergrad mechanics and electronics from it, it was very reliable for self-studying (I skipped almost every class in my undergrad, stay at school kids). So as an introduction to physics it's a good choice (but I haven't read the alternatives like Taylor or Griffith so I cannot compare)

Nonetheless, as the other said, if you don't plan to read more than a half, just pirate it on libgen

Also don't forget that many physics and engineering schools use it in their undergrad cursus, so you may find a second hand edition quite easily

If you go on to extend your studies (even sometimes around junior or senior year), you will find a lack of given problems, and you have to make up your own. You will be ahead of the pack if you can start doing this as a freshman.

I'm not OP but since the thread is still up, what do you guys and gals think about the following textbooks:

Shankar - Fundamentals of Physics
Alonso & Finn - Fundamental University Physics
Knight - Physics for Scientists and Engineers with Modern Physics
Berkeley Physics Course
Serway - Physics for Scientists and Engineers

At the moment I wanna learn electromagnetism, but I would like to eventually fully read one of these textbooks, to review and learn some stuff that I feel like I haven't properly learned in my undergrad. I've been also thinking about Griffiths for electromagnetism, but maybe starting with one of the books above would be better, in order to appreciate Griffiths' book more...

It's a bad habit and i want to stay away from it
Also it's easier for me to get distracted when i'm using computer, rather than just having the (physical) book in front of me.
