and actually even it could maybe exist in the universe because it could have a set of rules to reference to determine what matter/energy would be at a given point within the space occupied by the simulator, without having a data point in the simulator for each individual bit of matter/energy in the simulator
Does our universe have the proper amount of matter, energy, and empty space to house a simulator for the entire universe? maybe maybe not but it's theoretically possible for a universe to contain a simulator for itself (assuming that we are okay with the simulator not having specific data for every bit of data in the universe, as long as said data can be created/accessed at the will of the operator, and are okay with a limit on how much data about the universe the operator may access/view at any given time)
