air floats because its compose of lighter molecules. matter cannot occupy the same space. as the heavier molecules sink to the bottom the lighter molecules gets pushed up. air is still affected by gravity that's why we experience atmospheric pressure.

That's a horrible explanation. Buoyancy is a function of density, not weight.
