I have noticed I can completely stop my pointless thoughts when going to sleep and in general by focusing really hard but I can feel a really really small and dull pain(or distress) which I can't tell if its for good or not. Is focusing like that really healthy and good for your brain, maybe there is a reason why these thoughts are there? I'm aware of meditation but its not as intense. Maybe its growing out my frontal cortex etc. Please help me because I have read that people who try to forget traumatic events are predisposed to dementia.
