>>11515401No, this is not like the flu, it's not even remotely like the flu.
1. We are currently in the US at 2% fatality for known cases. This will certainly go down as known cases rise with better testing but don't forget that 95% of tested cases don't have Covid-19 so known cases will not go down as significantly as you hope.
2. We only expect those numbers if social distancing currently in affect are maintained. In the US alone if we simply allow it to run its course even if only 1% die we will be looking at 3 million deaths. In the US alone
3. You are not taking into account the fact that our healthcare industry cannot support this outbreak as it stands right now. Meaning other emergency needs will not be met because we will are caring for Covid-19 patients.
4. The death rate will certainly rise when we run out of care facilities to handle the number of cases. We're already at 2%, want to see what happens when we can no longer adequately care for patients?
5. Patients that need hospital care will need hospital care for 3-5 weeks. This is unsustainable as the virus continues to spread. The people infected today will need care in 2 weeks. When the hospitals are already full caring for patients who contracted the disease 2 weeks ago what are you going to do?
Stop comparing this to the flu you fucking republitards. They're telling you this because they want you to go back to work so you can give your overlords more money.
