Unlike bacteria, virus is not alive (it does not metabolize ATP). It only has pre-written function to replicate its DNA and/or RNA, and it needs a host cell to do so.

You yould think that a virus that JUST'd it's host, especially the one that is capable of species annihilating pandemic would be wiped out and virus that gives its host evolutionary advantage, like a superpower and heightened senses would be selected in favor.
