The answer is:
1. Yes it allows you to memorize many pieces of small information (e.g. what is the structure of the amino acid histidine), but takes suprisingly long time.
2. It is useless to memorize anything long, e.g. a theorem or a conclusion of a research article.
3. It is useless to study any relational info, e.g. events of the USA history. The chronological order will be destroyed by the app, it will stop asking you the easy questions, and you dont seem to form a large-scale picture.
4. But the main issue is: it is not interesting or stimulating at all. It is not fun at all to login every day and answer these questions. Adding cards sucks too. Not fun at all.
