I'd cull most of the human population if I could. Culling until there was ~0.0128205% of our 7.8 billion left.
That leaves the population at one million, more than enough genetic diversity to keep us going.
This population would be highly skilled, from all fields of work, the cream of the crop. Laboring jobs would fill up most of this million.
Skipping some logistics, we'd have to construct six hexagonal shaped cities surrounding a seventh hexagonal city. All the sections are roughly fifteen kilometers in diameter and would exist somewhere around Dhaka, Bangladesh.
Each of the outer grids would house a population that produces materials where all the manufacturing takes place.
Grid 1 is Education/Arts/Humanities, Grid 2 would house all the Agriculture, Grid 3 would be for Masonry, Grid 4 would be for Metallurgy, Grid 5 is a Security/Law city and Grid 6 is a Medical/Science/Computing city.
The central grid is for Leisure/Housing where most of the population would live, there would be jobs inside this but they would be very niche and Hospitality driven. Aspects of other parts of the grid would contribute to this grid, robotics would only be used to fill in potential gaps that might eventually occur (such as lack of interest in a specific area).
Grids would also be layered (as the Agriculture would take up a lot more space than the others).
The goal of all this is so we advance our species to a space faring civilization through hyper efficient planning.
If someone was to stop contributing toward the advancement of the civilization they would be banished.
If someone were to die or be banished then a baby would be produced that would eventually replace that person using their DNA.
What would you guys add to this type of civilization? Efficiency is key, but we don't want to make people unhappy.
