>>11502552Our attention spans, concentration and ability to think ahead (in the context of chess) have been targeted and destroyed. It’s also quite obvious and the establishment is very unappealing to most zoomer males and with the ability to navigate and discern bullshit on the internet there’s hope for some kind of cultural evolution starting in the individual level.
As for humour, I’m one of the older ‘98 zoomers so I’m not sure if it’s still the case. We grew up completely desensitized, in a culture of edge where there were constant lame MSM comedy and funny “YouTube” videos so you have to outperform and evolve the humour a little. In the atheist, nihilistic culture it went from edge -> irony -> surrealism -> some semblance of an (anti-a)theist counterculture where the memes are surreal, half-satirical and somewhat edgy.
As for the absurdly gay Youtube comments, normie memes a boomer himself could probably dissect it. We’re not allowed to say what we want, we’re oversocialized, and the only thing people will do for humour is copy other formats that work. But that’s what unfunny people have always done. The worst offender to this is the nobody: Keanu reaves: meme. But there’s still a lot of funny people and original thinkers even within the context of a memetic format. My guilty is the “tony Ferguson is the type guy of to X”
