Many medical workers get infected specifically from the nebulized outflow from ventilators (ie why they have the N95 masks while most can do with surgical).

Do /sci/entists have recommendations to improve the safety of the exhale valves? Could antimicrobial coating (such as copper) or filters reduce the risk? Could these improvements be improvised on site or would they have to be factory made?
