Except in this case it wouldn't just be temporary and it would include the visual field, sound, etc and it wouldn't just go away in a minute. This is because your brain would receive signals but hasn't grown as to "decode" them properly.
In order for it to "go away" your brain would have to "remap" neural connections as to make sense of it. It would be a process that could take years, similar to how some stroke patients have to learn to walk and talk again etc. Except this time for everything.
A baby's (ideally), or child's brain might be able to sort of deal with it but not so sure about adults.
(Keep in mind we are already handwaving stuff like oxygen & energy needs. Also as a minimum you probably need some of a dog's cerebellum that deals with thermoregulation, breathing etc, because if you had to "wait" for it to re-learn to, you'd be dead by then)
