What is it about relativity that makes EU people so angry?

Wallace Thornhill is the head "researcher" for the thunderbolts project and EU shit, and it really just comes off as he hates math and is too stupid to understand it. There also seems to be an underlying anti-semitic streak to it for the hatred of relativity (which, to be clear, has been experimentally verified millions of times).
So what is it about these guys? I don't get it.
