This is confusing. In this paper from a professor at UNLV (though it could be from any of a number of similar papers), Professor Zimmerman claims the German ovens could easily handle 26 corpses per day. These were coal ovens made from brick.

Italy uses these modern ovens where a single muffle fills an entire room with supporting equipment and burns much hotter and more efficiently. pic related. Yet, the modern Italian crematory ovens are overwhelmed with 12 corpses per day.
What gives? Have crematory ovens become less efficient and less capable? Why don't the Italians just burn2 or 3 corpses at a time like they did in the Death Camps? Don;t they become more efficient if left on instead of having to cool down?
