Can I get a quick rundown on the potential treatment that the frogs came up with? That being just giving old malaria pills to the sick. Does that shit actually show promise? Or am I just falling for the /pol/jew once again?

It's worth looking into further, but it is by no means confirmed as a miracle cure. The French study had a whole 36 patients on it -- which is really quite small to make sweeping statements on.

If it does work, it's because something about COVID-19 is sensitive to PH manipulation, which is primarily what chloroquine affects.

The other thing to note, is that chloroquine has some pretty horrific side effects, and so even if it does work it's unlikely to be deployed except in severe cases of COVID-19 as unless you're at risk of dying or developing ARDS it is probably safer to try and rough the disease out than to take chloroquine. Probably.

It's worth looking into further, but it's by no means confirmed.
