Career Advice

Hey guys,

I am a second year student doing a double degree (with a compulsory honours year) in Maths (major in stats which may change to applied) and CS, and I've been stressing lately about job prospects and whether I need to do an internship this early.

For context, my interests were always directed towards mathematics, but I fell into the CS meme because I was told that it would help me out with my job prospects in the future.
I have no idea what I want to do as a career, I don't have any interest in being a software dev, and was leaning more toward something along the lines of banking, data science or insurance.

My problem is, however, due to the fact I am so uncertain in my career path, I have no idea where to start with internships. So I am asking for advice as to whether it is standard to do internships to get into roles such as those mentioned above, and when someone in my circumstance should undertake such an internship (my degree is 5 years).

Any advice is much appreciated, including what career paths people took/are in, and whether it makes them want to kill themselves or not.
