a friend of mine is 37 and also has asthma. his doctor told him today that his additional risk is very low. i think she means the additional risk over other 37 year olds. hope that helps anon. stay safe

If your asthma is mild-moderate and controlled with medication (using rescue inhaler less than once a week) you're not one of those at increased risk. I also have asthma, used to be severe as a kid but luckily better now.
