Can u learn math if you focus on learning the history of math instead?

I want to learn math, but I hate and despise modern math education, is the most boring garbage experience ever.

I was thinking that maybe learning math history could teach me the same, even if not as optimal as learning directly math.
But I wonder if this idea could let me enjoy math, instead of being this awfull stupid BS.
