>Abstract:
Hand sanitizers and disinfectants are being widely used to sterilize the hands for years. The alcohol based disinfectants are known for their superior sterilization capacities over the usage of water and soap(1). In this experiment we are going to demonstrate the making of homemade alcohol based hand sanitizer.

>Introduction:
Microorganisms constitute the largest portion of the life on earth. Since the microorganisms can be infective and harmful to the human life, a couple of sterilization methods must be used in daily life in order to minimize the probability to getting infected. Alcohol based disinfectants are broadly used in daily life for the sterilization purposes. Most alcohol based hand sanitizers are being manufactured in gel or liquid form so that they can be easily applied on hand. This experiment’s aim is to make a homemade alcohol based hand sanitizer.

>Materials:
In this experiment; 500 mL %100 isopropyl alcohol, 100 mL vegetable based glycerine, water and a 100 mL spray bottle with pump vaporizer were used.
