No it isn't. It begins in nose and throat usually and can spread to lungs, spread through droplets, can survive on surfaces, can infiltrate the gastrointestinal tract and spread through fecal matter. It is most contagious when it is not most severe, people spread it unknowingly. Long incubation, long onset. It's incredibly difficult to contain but not because it's airborne.

Why dont people just wear facemasks TO PROTECT OTHERS? Healthy people with no symptoms. That would prevent the "unknowingly spread to others" ekement and remove the stigma.

This whole "facemasks wont protect you" is very harmful IMO, because it ignores a far more useful function: preventing the transmissions to OTHERS.

Hell, I've seen people McGuyver masks online. There seem to be no downsides but some upside. Not sure why it isnt encouraged.

Because the collective consciousness of western society is that of an uninformed brainlet acting on impulse. And if governments would start _mandating_ the use of face masks, the same low-IQ populace would throw that back in their face with a "No! And fuck you!"

Maybe it shouldnt be mandated but you could explain "if people start wearing face masks, those who have it but dont know they have it would stop making everyone sick.

If you see someone not wearing it outside you know who to avoid. Ostracism is a bitch. :D

The doctors have a shortage, and while it could be helpful to the public, it's REALLY fucking necessary for health care workers. In short, THEY'RE LYING TO YOU.

Some doctors have even gone out and said so. Nobody wants these masks to run out like toilet paper cause then all health care would come to a crashing halt, but the idea that they don't help is a lie.
